China’s military on parade, September 2015

On 3 September 2015, China paraded the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Beijing, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of victory over Japan in WWII.

It is my understanding that China 中国, the Middle Kingdom, will be central to the kings of the east.

“A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.”
– Joel 2:2

The fact that the current government of China is officially atheist (i.e. non Christian) is consistent with scripture. Ezekiel 25 describes the men of the east as “heathen”, and Joel 2 speaks of a “heathen” army.

Today, China happens to have the largest standing army in the world, and China has a population that is large enough to muster a force of 200 million, per Revelation 9:16.

“The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.”
– Joel 2:4

“And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.”
– Revelation 9:17

“For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.”
– Revelation 9:19

Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.”
– Joel 2:5

“They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:”
– Joel 2:7

A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.”
– Joel 2:3

The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:”
– Joel 2:10

In attendance at China’s V-Day parade was France’s foreign minister. On China, Napoleon once said, “China is a sleeping lion. Let her sleep, for the day she wakes, the world will tremble.”

“And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
– Joel 2:11

The power of this army that will come from the east will be like nothing the world has ever seen, nor will ever see again.

One reason why the kings of the east must be centred around China’s PLA is because historically the PLA has always withdrawn from foreign territory after successfully attacking it: Korea 1953, India 1962, Vietnam 1979. This kind of warfare, which focuses on punishing the enemy, reminds me of the war of 1812 between Great Britain and the USA. In that war, British redcoats fought their way into Washington DC, and burnt down the White House and the Capitol, before withdrawing from the USA altogether. Remember, Armageddon will ultimately secure all of the promised land for Israel, Genesis 15:18.

By the way, did you know that for some reason the people of Hong Kong call Chinese mainlanders “locusts”?

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”
– Joel 2:25

Anyway, during the V-Day parade, China’s President Xi Jinping closed his address by saying: “Let us bear in mind the great truth of history: Justice will prevail! Peace will prevail! The people will prevail!”

His mentioning of “justice” is particularly striking because the Chinese word for “justice” is Yì, 义 or 義, and Yì is also the Chinese word for “righteousness”. Remarkably, in Hebrew צדק means “justice” and also “righteousness”.

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”
– John 5:22-23

For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.”
– Isaiah 62:1

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.”
– Revelation 19:11
